The 20th Annual Indianapolis Marathon & Half Marathon presents a 5K Run/Walk course that is one of the most beautiful Autumn 5K courses you will find anywhere. This scenic race starts and finishes in historic Fort Benjamin Harrison and takes participants on a beautiful loop of the Fort Harrison State Park during the peak of the fall foliage spectacle.
Opening ceremonial remarks and National Anthem begin at 8:20 a.m. followed by the 8:30 a.m. official start of the Marathon, Marathon Relay and Half Marathon. Staging of the 5K Run/Walk begins thereafter, and the official start is at 9:00 a.m. There is an abundance of FREE PARKING at the Bean Center which is located a few blocks from the race site. Please be parked by 7:30am as the roads begin closing around the Race Site at that time. Stay for the great post-race meal and atmosphere!
We are a Runner, Walker, and Wheelchair friendly event (please see course features under wheelchair & handcycle participants). There is no time limit for the 5K course so come out for a run or a leisurely walk through beautiful Fort Harrison State Park as part of our 5K!
Every participant will receive a full-color long-sleeve technical shirt, custom design finisher medal and a FREE post-race cookout! We look forward to seeing you on October 17, 2015!
