AID STATIONS AND MEDICAL PERSONNEL
Water and Gatorade will be available at 21 Aid Stations along the course (approx. 1.25-mile intervals), as well as at the Start and Finish Lines. Energy Gel will be available at miles 17 and 21. Food will be provided at the finish. Every mile will be marked on the road and on a stand-up sign. Amateur radio personnel will be present at each Aid Station and at other positions along the course. Porta-Johns will be located at approximately 3-mile intervals. If you need to drop out of the race, please make every effort to report to the nearest Aid Station so that your name and bib number can be recorded - even if you require no medical assistance. A race vehicle will take you back to the finish area.
Medical personnel will be stationed at various sites throughout the course to provide medical assistance. Participants requiring medical treatment may be transported to an area or downtown hospital for treatment in an emergency room facility. It will be the discretion of the on-scene medical personnel to determine which facility will be used. Anyone transported to a facility and treated will be billed by the hospital and ambulance provider for services rendered.

SPECIAL INFORMATION
Energy Gel packets will be available on the Full and Half Marathon courses near miles 17 and 21.
Marathon participants must cross Shadeland Avenue ON A GREEN LIGHT after 1:00 pm (mile 23.5). There will still be police present after 1:00pm, but they will no longer be obligated to stop traffic.
There will be a "Seeded runner" area at the front of the starting field. Seeded runners will be identified by their race bibs. All other runners should self-seed their starting positions according to the pace signs at the starting line.
The Marathon course will be open and supported from 8:30am until 2:37pm. (This is a 14-minute-per-mile pace.) The Half-Marathon course will be open and supported from 8:30am until 11:47am. (This is a 15-minute-per-mile pace.) If you fall behind this pace, you will be given the choice to either withdraw or continue along the side of the road obeying all pedestrian laws. Failure to follow this pedestrian rule will result in disqualification - NO EXCEPTIONS. Safety is priority #1. There will be a 5 minute grace period to the above mentioned paces to allow walkers plenty of time to cross the starting line without it impacting their cut-off time pace.
Several parts of the course are an "out and back" format. Participants should stay to the right when facing other oncoming participants at all times. The entire course is marked with white double-lined arrows.
The Full and Half Marathon courses run together for the first 12.5 miles. When you return to the intersection of 59th Street & Post Road at the entrance to Fort Harrison State Park, the Marathon continues straight into the park while the Half-Marathon turns left onto Post Road and proceeds toward the finish line. The roads are clearly marked and plenty of volunteers will direct participants. Click here to view and print the course map.
