I had a wonderful time at the marathon as did my wife who ran her first half marathon. We both plan on being back again next year as it was one of the best directed marathons I have run. Keep up the great work.
Matthew – Brookville, OH
Joel, I am pleased to have participated in this event. It was a very pleasant experience----great venue, wonderful volunteers, good ambience.
Dave - Edmonton, AB, Canada
I ran the half marathon last weekend and I just wanted to comment on what a great event it was. Your team really put together a first class running event. I can't think of anything that needed improvement. The course was beautiful and the aid stations were well run. Thanks to all the volunteers that gave up their Saturday to give the runners a fantastic experience. I really appreciate them. Thanks again for a job well done. I hope to be back next year when I tackle my first marathon. Indianapolis will be my first marathon.
Kevin – Schaumburg, IL
It was a terrific day for a run and what made it perfect wasn't the weather but the wonderful volunteers and great organization. I have run races all over the country and I would say that this one is definitely up near the top of the list. I will be back again next year. Keep up the great work.
Mike - Lafayette, IN
Just a great race today. The weather could not have been better and your preparations and execution were flawless.
Jim – Indianapolis, IN
What a great race! Beautiful course and so well organized. Thank you!!!
Jennifer – Cincinnati, OH
I would just like to write and say that I ran the half marathon yesterday for the first time and truly enjoyed it! I would definitely recommend the race to a friend. The scenery, colorful changing leaves were beautiful. So thanks again for putting on a fun event. :)
Amy – Ft. Wayne, IN
You should be very proud of this race. Very well organized, great volunteers, police/traffic control, and a great route. Top notch job!
Danielle - Chicago, IL
Thanks for a great race! I'm sending you my comments: Things I liked: 1) Pre-race: Combination of seeded runners' spots and the announcer asking everyone (repeatedly) to start in the corral where they belong. You did everything possible for a smooth start. 2) Race started on time. 3) Beautiful course, with just enough hills to make it interesting. Changing of the leaves is also a big draw. I liked the variety of residential, state park, and even the highway. 4) Plenty of water/Gatorade stops. 5) For that matter, plenty of volunteers. 6) The medal: It's big, it's detailed, it's shiny! Love it! 7) And of course, the post race cookout. Great burgers and brats. Things I didn't like: Not a darn thing. It must be really tough to make something like this go off without a hitch, but all the work you did really paid off.
Steve – Bloomington, IL
This was my first half marathon and I had so much fun!!! It was a beautiful day and a wonderful race. I didn't think I would want to try it again, but I already do! See you next year!
Robin - Mitchell, IN
I just wanted to send you a note of thanks for all you did to put together a perfect marathon. The day was totally remarkable, and I hope you all never have to change the course. The whole race was surreal (especially through the park). I wish my time was better, but what a marvelous and beautiful way to spend almost 5 hours! Maybe I'll improve next year.
Richard – Hamilton, OH
Great Race!!!!! Well organized and a lot of Fun.
Mike – Carmel, IN
I just wanted to thank you for staging this race. This is the third or fourth time I have competed in this race. The Indianapolis Marathon has turned into one of those must do races each year. The course is a fantastic course; I love the venue and the people. This year myself and a group of friends found our way to one of your three fire pits and hung out for almost two hours, it turned out to be a great day.
Greg – Noblesville, IN
What a great event! Very well organized and there was excellent support. I loved the small town atmosphere and it was the small things that made it better than the larger marathons. At the start, with over 6,000 people at the start line, you could hear a pin drop when the National Anthem was played. I will highly recommend this marathon to others and will definitely keep on my list of marathons to do again.
Stephen - Troy, IL
Thank you! This was my first Mini Marathon and I was so impressed with the course, the volunteers and the logistics. Great job! We will be back! Thank you again for a great experience.
Susan – Elizabethtown, KY
Thank you to you, what a wonderfully run event!!! And I have done some big ones (Chicago, New York and Boston) but you guys and the course are holding your own with the big ones!
Karin – Naperville, IL
Wow! What a great race! Plenty of port-a-johns (a race must-have), plenty of water/gatorade stops, plenty of beautiful scenery! This was my 18th marathon and I really enjoyed the autumn atmosphere and beauty of this course. What a way to welcome fall. Who wants to go slog around the shops in Nashville when they can run a gorgeous marathon at Ft. Ben? Keep up the good work. P.S.-The finisher's medal is awesome. Good quality.
David – Indianapolis, IN
I just want to say thank you. This was my 6th half marathon, but not in your city, it was my first here. I just want to say that it was a perfect day and everything about it was great! I was with 4 other young women and one of them it was her first. We will definitely come back. The course, the entertainment and food was great!
Becky - Racine, WI
We loved the race! I participated for the first time, and did it with several other triathletes who have done it for the past few years....they all said it was the best one yet! The course was beautiful, with ample and friendly volunteers directing; the spectating was awesome with tons of places for people to watch and cheer on athletes, and the best part was the cookout and bonfires after the race!! We wanted to stay there and hang out all day! I heard nothing but positive comments from athletes around me who participated. It was awesome, and you all deserve a pat on the back for a job well done. I am definitely going to promote this race to my triathlete friends who I train with, and will definitely participate next year!!!! AWESOME JOB and AWESOME EVENT!
Katy – Indianapolis, IN
Your race is the one I most look forward to running every year. It was my first full in 2006, my best half last year, and then a better half this year. I'm already looking forward to next year. Thanks for all your hard work in coordinating; your volunteers do a great job!
Bryan – Champaign, IL
We all have enjoyed the whole Indianapolis experience participating in either the marathon, half, 5K, or kids run - something for everyone. It has become a family tradition of ours that we have enjoyed for over 10 years.
Amanda – McCordsville, IN
I really enjoyed the day in Indianapolis. The course was fun, the weather was perfect and the support outstanding. Thank you for a great time.
Jim - Auburn, AL
My first Indianapolis Half-Marathon and an excellent venue well done!! I enjoyed the YMCA packet pick up site with all the activities, and future race entry forms. Vendors were great as well. Course challenging but fair. Brought back a lot of memories for me when post was still an active duty ARMY installation. Finish line, food, activities also well done. Met many people from out of state. Congratulations - a great race weekend.
